Language courses for children

When and where do the English language courses for children take place?

From 2 February 2009, the Skrivanek Baltic Language School will offer English language courses for even the smallest students – pre-school and primary school children!

We invite curious pre-school and primary school students and their mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers or other family members to attend English language lessons that are tailored to the learning processes and interests of children.

For what age group is the courses intended?

We offer English language courses for three age groups: for children aged 2 to 4, children aged 5 to 6 and children aged 7 to 8.

The lesson programme for children aged 2 to 4 is prepared so the children are able to develop socialisation skills at an early age, hear the difference between a foreign language and their native language and form their first sentences in English. The lessons include 15 minute breaks, during which parents can Exchange opinions and observations over a cup of coffee, as well as consult with an instructor on the process of their child’s foreign language development.

Lessons are on Saturdays from 10.30 to 11.15.

The English language lesson programme for children aged 5 to 6 offers an intensive and active acquisition of the English language because this is the age when children most rapidly acquire speaking and listening skills in a foreign language. Children are welcome to bring their favourite stuffed animal to lessons to participate in letter games, drawing contests and to learn fun songs.

Lessons are on Saturdays from 11.30 to 12.15.

For primary school children aged 7 to 8, the opportunities to use English grow every day – English language lessons in school, the first family vacations, the first experience in communicating in English for an international project at school and efforts to pick up and understand information given in English by mass media. We invite this group of youngest students to take part in exciting games and activities to help learn English words and phrases related to the daily situations and interests of children!

Lessons are on Saturdays from 12.30 to 13.30.

We’ve also made sure that the parents or sitters attending lessons with the children will be comfortable during lessons – they can enjoy aromatic coffee or tea, WiFi internet access or even try their hand at English by reading one of the many English language novels from our library or by completing a challenging assignment! And, for the convenience of our visitors, there is a paid-parking lot right in front of the School.
